Dates: October 11-16

Accommodations: Luxury Eco-Friendly Yurts

Come join Leah Dawnson, Earth Missions and AllSwell in the beautiful North Pacific town of Tofino for a surf experience of a lifetime.

An opportunity to meet like-minded friends in our global surf community, this trip is designed to celebrate togetherness while expanding our love and awareness of the sea. Ultimately, we leave these experiences more equipped in the surf and memories that last a lifetime.

With waves ranging in all levels, from perfect longboard beach breaks to fast shortboard reef breaks; boards of all shapes and sizes are welcomed here. Each day, our focus will be timing the surf conditions for as long as we want to surf. The ideal uncrowded waters are a result of this area's remote locations.

Bonus: We are very excited to partnering with AllSwell Creative on this trip. The AllSwell team will run our group through an immersive experience in creative writting.

*Prior surfing experience is required - Must be able to catch your own waves.

*We do our best to align surfers in the sessions who are on similar ability levels.

With open hearts, broad perspectives, and sea appreciation, joy will penetrate every cell of our bodies by the end of the retreat.

If you’re into the outdoors as much as the ocean and craving some creative inspiration, Vancouver Island is the place for you.

From beginner surfers looking to improve their skills to long-time wave riders, Vancouver Island receives a variety of waves so you’ll find the ones perfect for you. If you’re more excited about the creative workshops and expert photography tips, no problem, spend less time in the water and more time behind the camera. This is trip is what you want to make it.

All ages are welcome but those 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

An ideal escape for a family, friends, couples, or a solo mission!

Historically, the sea here receives fun swells this time of year. Ultimately Mother Nature holds the cards for our surf sessions but we will do our best to find you the type of waves that you want to surf.

The sea surrounding Vancouver Island is cold (approx 55 degrees) so bring thicker wetsuits to brave these waters when you’re not out exploring with your camera. We recommend wearing a 4/3 hooded wetsuit with booties at a minimum, up to a 5/4 hooded wetsuit and booties (bring gloves if you’ve got them).

Got more than one wetsuit? Great, bring them…you'll prefer putting on a dry wetsuit each day instead of a cold, wet one!

Vancouver Island offers a variety of waves that cater to a wide range of boards. We encourage you to bring the go-to board you feel most comfortable on to experience all types of surf.

Longboards, shortboards, single fins, fun shapes, we’ll find waves to suit them.

Please Note:
If you don’t have a surf board, let us know. We will help you source/hire one from a local surf store in your area, or from a vendor when you get to Vancouver Island. We may also be able to provide one for you so let us know ASAP.

*Fly in to Tofino airport where your hosts will be waiting to escort you to Wya Point.

*Orca Airways offers daily flights year round between the Vancouver South Terminal Airport and the Tofino/Ucluelet Airport (we recommend booking with this airline but there are other options to get there).

*Ground transport to and from the airport is provided but you will need to book your own flights

*Our team can help you book your transport to Tofino and talk through the options available. Contact to our experts about how and when to book.

Travel health insurance is always recommended if your primary health insurance does not cover travel.
